Stocklake Park School is a secondary special school and together with its Resource and Learning site, Harding House and the primary special school, Booker Park are The Vale Federation of Special schools.
They look for all our young people to be successful learners enabling them to achieve in a caring and supportive environment. Working together is at the heart of The Vale Federation and our relationship with parents, carers and all the many professionals is central to helping our young people succeed.
There are currently 90 students at Stocklake Park School, based in tutor groups. The curriculum is organised around key questions and themes, which gives students the opportunity to experience and explore different subjects. Central to this is the development of communication and numeracy skills relating to real life situations. Students also experience a range of creative arts and explore aspects of personal, social, moral and emotional education. All our work is based in a belief in each student’s capacity to achieve and be the best they can be, enabling them to be as independent as possible. Our ethos is about encouraging students to value themselves and each other, maximising their enjoyment of learning, whilst developing self esteem and confidence.
Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)
Important changes in legislation are currently taking place regarding SEND provision. All local authorities, by law, have to provide children and young people with SEN or disabilities, and their parents, with information, advice and support. Buckinghamshire SEND IAS Service is the information, advice and support service here. The service is free, confidential, impartial and at arm’s length from Buckinghamshire County Council.
External Visits
Visits out of school take place throughout the year and are generally as class groups in the school minibus. The school has adopted the Buckinghamshire County Council Policy and Guidance for out of school visits.
Selection Criteria: Selective
The Local Authority is responsible for all admissions to our schools. Pupils referred to the schools have a Educational Health And Care Plan.
Admission may be made at any time during the school year, but generally take place at the start of each term. All admissions are made in accordance with the current school policy and appropriate legislation.
Parents who are considering sending their child to one of our schools are invited to make a visit to the school. If agreement is reached between parents and school that it may be an appropriate placement the child is also invited to visit. A place will be offered by the Local Authority if the needs of the child can be met at the school.
