Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School is leading State Secondary school in Aylesbury. This is a Selective school for kids age 11 to 18 years. Gender - Mixed

A Sir Henry Floyd student is one who will excel academically, culturally, socially and emotionally from studying in Aylesbury’s only grammar school that serves children of all genders. Every day, I encounter positive young people who are determined to grow their knowledge in resourceful ways. Our diverse community of inquisitive young minds allows an environment in which our students can thrive. Ours is an environment that both delivers and inspires, as evinced through our academic attainment. The high standards mirror the expectations we have of ourselves as individuals; as both staff and students. The environment in which we all learn and work is one that allows a true exchange of wisdom and guidance, in a way that is unique to our school.
 

Facilities

ACADEMIC CURRICULUM
The curriculum at SHFGS is academic, ambitious and founded on the school vision.  The curriculum is challenging and is not narrowed at any Key Stage; the school teaches a very broad range of subjects throughout Years 7 to 9, encompassing and going beyond National Curriculum subjects. We offer18 subjects at KS3, 20 at KS4 and 24 at KS5. The EBacc lies at the heart of the KS3 curriculum, in line with the DfE’s ambition. The subjects of the EBacc form a strong academic foundation for both the KS4 curriculum and A levels in KS5. As much freedom of choice as possible is allowed when students have opportunities to select subjects; parents and carers at SHFGS are strongly in favour of this approach.
