Facilities
The Sixth Form department has dedicated teaching rooms where all Sixth Form teaching, aside from Art and Science, which use specialist facilities, takes place. Seating is arranged in seminar style, encouraging group discussion and debate and full inclusion. Contemporary fixtures and fittings ensure that the Sixth Form teaching rooms have a real sense of difference from the rest of the school. Thornton College offers scholarships in recognition of outstanding achievement and potential for internal and external students every year. They offer scholarships into Years 7, 9 and 12. Scholarships are limited and are offered by the Executive Team in consultation with the Governors. They are offered as a discount on fees ranging from 10-30% and are not means-tested. Students can be entered for more than one scholarship award but normally only one may be granted. In rare cases, a student may receive a combined award.
