Suffah Primary School is an independent Islamic School based in the London Borough of Hounslow, West London. They are situated on the first floor of Hounslow Jamia Masjid & Islamic Centre.

Curriculum
English, Mathematics, Science, Islamic Studies and Qur’an form the main part of the curriculum – these are known as the core subjects. The children also learn about Geography, History, Arabic, ICT, Art, Music, Design Technology, Physical Education and PSHE and Citizenship – these are known as the foundation subjects.Staff at Suffah Primary aim to plan as much of the curriculum taught, as possible to relate to real life experiences. This makes learning more meaningful for the children. The topic themes are carefully selected for each year group. The teachers plan the topic themes in detail to ensure that a broad and balanced curriculum is offered to the children throughout their infant years. We aim to ensure continuity and progression between classes and between year groups.

Home Learning
Home learning is a valuable element of children’s education at Suffah Primary. All children receive regular tasks and activities to support their learning in reading, writing and maths. Children complete tasks in homework books which are similar to their class books.All children are encouraged to read every day through regular reading books selected by teachers to extend their reading skills. In Key stage 1, children take home a reading book each week with a question to develop their understanding. In addition to this, children receive 10 personalised spellings for the week.
Smsc
Spiritual, moral, social and cultural education (SMSC) is not taught as a discrete subject in itself but rather it pervades all aspects of learning and aims to ensure our children learn to develop attitudes and beliefs that will make them well-rounded, tolerant, respectful, open-minded and informed future citizens.
