St Mark's Catholic School is leading State Secondary school for kids age 11 to 18 years (Gender - Mixed)

St. Mark’s Catholic School is founded on the Christian values, expressed in the gospels: peace, truth, justice and love. These values underpin everything that they do within the school and they unite them as a Christian community. They view each person as special and unique and the highly professional staff is dedicated to ensuring that every pupil fulfils their God given potential. St. Mark’s is a truly inclusive community and they celebrate the pupils’ achievements, together with providing outstanding pastoral support. The thriving Sixth Form greatly enhances the character of the school. The majority of our Year 11 pupils continue their Sixth Form studies with them and this is a testament to the very positive pupil-teacher relationships which are established at St. Mark’s. The curriculum is challenging and enriching, and the excellent results achieved by the pupils enables them to access some of the best universities including Oxbridge

Curriculum
The community of St. Mark’s believes that every individual is created by God and is precious to God. Each person is called to serve God and their neighbour and to fulfil their potential. St. Mark’s is a Catholic School which has at its heart a love of God, the education of its students and a mission to serve the neighbours and community. They seek to foster a spirit of truth, reconciliation, justice and peace. They are committed to developing the spiritual, intellectual, moral, cultural, social and physical potential of all the members within a safe and supportive environment. The formal curriculum is organised into a 30-period week with lessons being 50 minutes in length. This entitlement is achieved by offering a core curriculum in which aesthetic, creative, geographical, historical, environmental, linguistic, literary, scientific, mathematical, technological, spiritual, moral and religious areas of learning are offered to the students. St Mark’s implements a 3-year key stage 3 and this develops the knowledge and skills necessary for progression to key stage 4 and 5.
