Ashton House School is Independent Primary school in Hounslow for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )
The aim at Ashton House School is to create a warm, caring and dynamic environment where each and every child can reach their full potential. As a small, one-form entry school we know each pupil as an individual in their own right, we are able to develop existing talents and encourage experimentation and discovery within a nurturing environment. At Ashton House, they are committed to providing a warm, positive educational environment, where pupils are known and valued on individual merit. Our values of kindness, courage, co-operation, and respect are at the heart of everything we do. They help us foster a strong sense community and ensure that our boys and girls leave kind-hearted, happy and well prepared for the future.
LOWER SCHOOL
First impressions are very important, especially to children. In Pre Prep, our passionate team of staff provide a nurturing environment for our youngest pupils right from the start. Our aim is to deliver a wide range of activities to motivate and inspire the children in both the spacious classrooms and also in specially designed outdoor areas. The Pre Prep classes have sole use of the ground floor of one of our two houses comprising three large, airy rooms and modern facilities. They also have access to a large playground, an enclosed garden area, the school hall, as well as an adobe outdoor classroom.
UPPER SCHOOL
In the Upper School, we continue to build on the strong foundations provided by the Lower School and aim to foster a passion for learning. As the children move on through the school, they are encouraged to develop more independent learning skills and are offered challenges and opportunities to help unlock their potential. Our curriculum is geared to achieving success at 11+ when the children are in Year 6 but our curriculum remains robust, vibrant and equally balanced between all subjects.
Extra Curricular Activities
A dynamic range of fun activities and challenging programmes is offered to pupils alongside the core curriculum. Children can learn a musical instrument, hone their skills in debate or chess club, and develop sports or drama skills with specialist teaching staff. We have maths teams and quiz teams who regularly represent the school and older children are encouraged to awaken their social conscience by taking part in the popular Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS).
Special Educational Needs
Every child is different and unique in their needs. At Ashton House School we want every child to benefit fully from the education we have on offer. We therefore offer support as follows:
Gifted And Talented
They recognise that some pupils are exceptionally quick to learn and respond very positively to new and different educational challenges. Our full-time specialist Enrichment teacher works with children across the school from Reception to Year 6, offering a programme of extension activities in numeracy and literacy. Children are assessed regularly and parents advised accordingly.
Learning Support
If it is felt, following assessment and observation by the class teacher and in consultation with parents, that a child would benefit from extra support in the key areas of numeracy or literacy, one to one or small group learning is arranged with teaching staff or external professionals.
Selection Criteria: Selective
Ashton House School is not a selective school but to establish that they are the right environment for your child and to determine how they would complement the existing year group, no offers of enrolment will be made prior to the Head Teacher meeting each child and assessing their individual requirements.
