Lyons Hall Primary is the first school of the Learning Pathways Academy Trust which also includes Braiswick Primary in Colchester and White Hall Academy in Clacton-On-Sea. You will notice that education at Lyons Hall Primary School is more than the core curriculum because they are totally committed to developing the creative, physical, emotional and social side of all our children. They can tell you about the curriculum, our aims, activities and successes, but they cannot convey the ethos or atmosphere. The best way to make a decision about choice of schooling is to simply pay us a visit, preferably during the school day.

CURRICULUM
At Lyons Hall the curriculum is driven by the need to prepare our children for lifelong learning. Based on the requirements of the national curriculum it is rich, broad and ambitious for all learners. It develops our children’s essential knowledge, skills and understanding which are the building blocks for their continuing education at secondary school and indeed their later life. The aim is to enrich every child’s school experience by creating a caring learning environment where they are encouraged to challenge themselves, learn from mistakes, believe in their potential and celebrate the achievements of all. Through the curriculum, new skills, learning and experiences help to nurture resilience, curiosity and creativity. Underpinning everything we do are Growth Mindset, Fish Philosophy and Learning and Life Skills. The aim is to ensure that our children have the resilience to overcome barriers, are equipped to be effective learners and have the social skills to be valuable and caring members of the community.

Clubs
At Lyons Hall Primary School we offer a range additional extra curricular activities such as music lessons, swimming, school trips and various before and after school clubs.On a Wednesday they also offer Beans on Toast and on a Friday we offer the children egg, bacon or sausage in a bap. Once the children have eaten their breakfast the children have a choice of different activities which include drawing, board games, lego, duplo, dolls and puzzles.

Swimming Lessons
As part of the curriculum swimming lessons are offered to all children in Years 3 and 5 as we would like all children to be able to swim efficiently before they leave Lyons Hall Primary School in Year 6. These sessions take place on a Wednesday morning running for approximately 7 – 10 weeks for each year group. They are held at our local swimming pool in Braintree and the children are taken to and from the swimming pool by a local reputible coach company each week.
