St Thomas More's Catholic Primary School, Colchester

50 Priory St, Colchester CO1 2QB, United Kingdom
4-11 Years

Description

St Thomas More's Catholic Primary School, Colchester is a State Primary school for kids aged 4 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )

For a small school we achieve big things. Just a few examples: they host the maths hub for the whole of Essex, Southend and Thurrock, they lead on teacher training and we are a centre of excellence for phonics. This is all in addition to what they do best which is to provide a quality first education in a happy, supportive environment! They are also part of a MAT with six other Catholic schools, working together to provide the best education possible for the pupils. This collaboration strengthened over the closures and challenges of the last two years and continues to provide a network of ideas across the seven Catholic schools.

Facilities

Curriculum
At St Thomas More’s Primary School, we value each child as an individual with a unique potential for learning.  They promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical qualities of all pupils. They believe that an effective curriculum offers knowledge, skills, understanding and progression and the curriculum is designed with these principles in mind. They have designed a curriculum which is ambitious for all children. They recognise that each child, each class and each member of staff have unique interests, skills and talents, therefore the curriculum is designed flexibly to meet the needs of our whole community. They want the pupils to enjoy their learning, experience the excitement of discovering something new or of mastering a skill.
