Features

Things to note

Extra Curricular
The extra-curricular programme at Forest Park Preparatory School is designed to extend the children’s experience of the world, to give them opportunities to work and play together and to give them skills and interests, some of which may last their whole lives. Children have a great many extra-curricular opportunities available to them. Examples of co-curricular activities are drama, music, sport, term-time day and residential visits and the enrichment programmes. These areas make a significant contribution to the school and play and a huge part in the life of a Forest Park pupil. Staff offer a variety of activities including photography, gardening, puzzle and games, computer, chess, cookery, dance, drama and art. Sporting clubs for all year groups take place both during and after school.

Creative
All classes in the school, including Pre-Prep, take part in various productions and school assemblies - all of which help to build confidence and give children the opportunity to foster friendships with children from other year groups.

Sports
At Forest Park there is a strong emphasis on health and fitness outside the classroom. Forest Park believes that all children should be given the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of sporting activities. The intention is that each child may find at least one physical activity for them to enjoy and maybe, in which to excel. Many children love playing sports and believe games are an important part of school life. All Forest Park pupils have an opportunity to play in a School or House team and experience the pride which that role brings. Fixtures in all sports are arranged against other schools at a variety of levels to give as many children as possible the chance to represent the school. At Forest Park we like to emphasise the pleasure of participation and working together in team games. While they love winning at sports, our priority is for children to enjoy being physically active.
