The Nursery at Abbotsford
Choosing the right setting for your child during their early years is vital as this period is crucial for their development and preparation for the future. This is why they have created an environment that ensures children from as young as four months get the best possible start by working in partnership with parents. They recognise that raising a child is a balancing act, and everything they do, from flexible opening and closing hours to remaining open for 50 weeks of the year puts you and your family first. The approach centres on the child and is driven by the desire to see all children achieving their full potential in their own unique way.  They believe that nurturing children’s individual interests helps them develop and grow - preparing them for an exciting and rewarding learning experience.

Pre-Prep
The most important aspect of the Pre Prep stage is that your child makes a smooth transition from the Early Years to main school life. The infant school department builds on the nurturing environment of our Early Years. The aim is for all children to grow up with confidence in themselves as successful learners. They carefully monitor each child’s progress and celebrate their successes to promote positive attitudes to learning. The Pre Prep stage of the school will help your child develop into a learner for life. Small class sizes, academic excellence, fantastic pastoral care and extra-curricular activities combine to give you a great infant school for your child. The Pre-Prep class sizes are small - never exceeding 20 children and this ensures children learn at their own pace and that they can differentiate effectively to engage every child.

Prep
Abbotsford is an independent school with places that are highly sought-after as they are known for ensuring children are ready for the next stage in their education. They set high standards in regards to academia and behaviour, and pupils are assisted in meeting these expectations with dedicated and professional staff that promote self-confidence, self-assurance and self-discipline. They have a responsibility to provide a first-class learning experience and they deliver this with highly-qualified, highly motivated and enthusiastic staff. Teachers take on a coordinator’s role for their specialised subject and their skills are used so that children receive specialist teaching as well as having the continuity of their own class teacher for core subjects.
