Bowdon Preparatory School for Girls is Independent Primary school in Trafford for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Girls )
At Bowdon Prep School (BPS), they aim to give girls the best possible start to their education. Our vision is to empower girls to believe in themselves and to succeed in all that they do. They aim to ensure that all pupils flourish in a rich and disciplined learning environment, within a happy and caring community – and that this ethos underpins the girls’ academic progress and wellbeing as they move through the school.
They prepare our girls for entry into some of the leading schools in the country. They have an excellent record of success in entrance examinations to grammar and independent day schools, as well as scholarships to public schools. If you’re looking for a school place for your daughter, we would love you to visit us. Please get in touch and they can arrange a tour of the school. You will be able to meet a member of the Senior Leadership Team, see our fantastic facilities, observe teaching in our classrooms and speak to the pupils.
Kindergarten
Starting school is an exciting milestone for both you and your daughter, so from the moment she begins her educational journey at BPS they can assure you of our commitment to providing a happy and nurturing experience in these key early years. The dedicated and experienced staff provide the best possible individual care and support for your daughter within an enriched and stimulating learning environment. The Kindergarten girls learn through a wide variety of play and creative activities. Through daily small steps, they are encouraged to develop self-assurance, independence and effective social skills. They place great value on ensuring that learning is fun, engaging and rewarding. They have high aspirations, and most of our pupils work beyond age-related expectations. They work in close partnership with the parents as they lay down the foundations for the learning journeys of the youngest members of the BPS community.
Pre-Prep
Throughout Pre-Prep, the girls are supported by a team of dedicated professionals who understand that every girl is unique. Ensuring that the girls’ experiences are rich, varied and purposeful, contributes greatly to their academic progress and personal well-being. Whilst we are understandably proud of our impressive academic record, they know that long-term success is built on broader qualities and values. For a girl to do well at school, she needs to believe in herself and persevere, even in areas she finds more challenging. They therefore, take notice of her successes and let her know they are proud of who she is. they take learning beyond the four walls of their classroom to make full use of the exceptional facilities within the school.
Prep
In Prep, subjects are taught by subject specialists and pupils move from classroom to classroom for their lessons. They are able to make use of the fantastic facilities which include two science labs, a spacious art room, a music lab, a design and technology room, as well as a large multi-purpose sports hall with an adjoining dance and drama studio.Academic standards are very high and pupils make significant steps towards a more independent style of learning. Furthermore, a commitment to the girls’ wider personal development is a touchstone of the approach to education.
Extra-curricular Activities
At BPS, they encourage the girls to believe, persevere and succeed in all that they do, not only academically, but also in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. This ‘can do’ approach provides our girls with the opportunities to develop their talents, explore new interests and broaden their horizons.Great emphasis is placed on developing rich and diverse extra-curricular programmes so that pupils can thrive in an environment where all of their abilities and talents are recognised and nurtured. They foster a culture of creativity and innovation and are thrilled that the girls make the most of every day at BPS.
Trips & Visits
School trips and educational visits are powerful and positive teaching tools that help to support the curriculum and enhance the social, personal and emotional development of all our learners. At BPS we offer a wide variety of educational trips and memorable themed days which bring learning to life and build confidence through exposure to new challenges and situations. The opportunities are endless and trips vary from historical visits and theatre trips, to STEM adventures (eg, Museum of Science and Industry) and residential trips to the Lake District and France.
