Nursery
Each child’s transition from home to nursery is carefully supported by our experienced staff, with children often increasing their sessions as their confidence builds during the first term. We understand this can be a challenge for families, so we ensure you and your child feel comfortable and prepared every step of the way.At this early stage, we focus on learning through play, promoting curiosity, creativity and capturing your child’s imagination. Children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which builds the foundations of mathematics, reading, writing and science.
Pre-Prep: Years 1 & 2
As the pupils make the exciting move from reception they introduce them to the fundamental skills of spelling, grammar, punctuation, handwriting and times tables. This lays the foundations for later learning and guides them towards independence. The children benefit from small class sizes, a nurturing environment and a strong sense of community as they develop during these early years. Individual form teachers are dedicated to each child’s social development, learning and pastoral care.
Prep: Years 3 to 6
During the junior years they focus on extending and enriching learning across all levels, preparing the pupils for entrance into the top senior schools at age 11. With small class sizes, each child receives the personal attention they deserve and teachers have the flexibility to modify lessons to best meet the needs of everyone in the group.Competitive sports, creative arts opportunities and inter-school challenges enrich the children’s learning, alongside a broad program of extra-curricular activities which encourage our pupils to use every experience for in-depth learning.As our pupils develop they are given increasing levels of responsibility and accountability to develop self-esteem and confidence as they embark on their education at senior schools.
