Facilities

Early Years
The play and learning environment is designed to encourage children to carefully construct their own learning through independence and a choice of play experiences and activities. They aim to nurture and encourage your child's natural ability, to promote their social, emotional, intellectual and physical development, and to help build strong foundations for their future learning.Nursery, Pre-School and Pre-Reception are open 50 weeks per year, closing for just two weeks at Christmas.

Pre Prep
Pupils automatically continue their journey from our Pre-Reception into our Pre-Prep department. This is a secure and nurturing environment in which children are encouraged to pursue high academic standards. To help achieve this, great importance is placed on the pastoral care with individual attention for each child ensuring that they are eager and happy to enter school each day.We are housed in the own purpose-built building, where we embrace the best of modern education while maintaining the traditions of the school's heritage.

Prep
The transition to the Prep Department marks the next exciting stage of your child’s education at The Ryleys.  Here the pupils’ learning is extended and enhanced with the introduction of specialist teachers in all subjects.  The specialist teaching provides an outstanding education.  The move away from being based in one classroom increases pupils’ independence, responsibility and confidence.  This teaching format, coupled with small class sizes and an excellent learning support and enhancement structure, ensures a bespoke education and success for every child.

Features

Things to note

Extra-Curricular Activities
At The Ryleys, they believe that personal-development continues well beyond the classroom and so they offer pupils an abundance of extra-curricular clubs which operate both at lunchtime and after school.Teachers will make recommendations to parents and children about co-curricular activities, helping them to pursue interests and hobbies that facilitate their growth as individuals, and their sense of belonging to the wider school community. They offer a diverse co-curricular programme, which means there is something to suit all tastes. Whether your child has a love of sport and would enjoy sailing, water polo, gymnastics and ballet or whether your child enjoys the arts and would enjoy art, film or book club, there is something to suit everyone.

Enrichment and Extension
From the moment your child starts at The Ryleys, their classroom teacher will be monitoring their progress. All children develop at different rates and some children are identified as having the ability or potential to develop significantly ahead of their peers. It’s our aim as a school to ensure that these children are extended and developed so that they continue to progress at an accelerated pace in the subject or subjects in which they show particular ability.Children who do show accelerated learning and understanding will be entered into our Enrichment and Extension programme where they will be developed and challenged in the subject in which they show a greater aptitude. This may be in the form of one to one teaching or group teaching for a specific subject. The children will then also be set work to complete at home.
