The Queen's School is an independent day school for girls aged 4–18.
Facilities
Outdoor sports facilities enable a wide range of sports, including lacrosse, hockey and athletics. Netball and tennis is played on the recently resurfaced courts.
The Lower School boasts an on-site swimming pool, running track long jump pit, tennis and netball courts.There are also outdoor classrooms plus playground and climbing equipment, science, cookery and music rooms as well as a school kiln and an IT suite.
Play is hugely important and girls at Queen’s fill their playtime with a range of activities. From ball sports and tree climbing to impromptu dance displays, sing-offs and gymnastics, the playground rings with the sound of happy, imaginative children.
Traditional library contains more than 14,000 titles but also has an e-library service for girls to download books to their iPads, a DVD collection point.
There are facilities for painting, drawing, sculpture and specialist facilities for printmaking.

Things to note
All the girls have three hours of physical activity lessons per week. These include swimming and a variety of other traditional sports such as tennis, hockey, athletics and netball. They are taught by school-specialist PE and swimming staff.
Music is part of the rich heritage of Queen’s. They embrace not just learning an instrument but also learning to perform.

At the Lower School a whole host of clubs is on offer, from computing, science and yoga clubs to Taekwondo, art and Mandarin clubs. CLICK HEREfor more information.
Whether it is astronomy, debating, women’s history, ancient Greek, embroidery or modern languages, these academic clubs are a fun way for girls to extend their learning in an informal setting, working together and learning from their peers and teachers alike.
Year 7 entry: There are a number of Queen’s Scholarship awards available each year to girls joining the Senior School at Year 7, and these are offered to girls of outstanding academic distinction, based on the results of the entrance examination. The Scholarship carries with it the title of “Queen’s Scholar” which a girl is entitled to use, for example, in her application to the university, to give further evidence of her high ability level. This Scholarship attracts a financial award of £250.
Sixth Form:
Amanda Latham Arts Scholarship: This Scholarship is awarded in Year 12 to a pupil who is taking Pre-U Art, for outstanding ability in Art. This Scholarship carries a financial award of £500.
Sixth Form Academic Scholarship: A number of scholarships are awarded each year to current Queen’s School pupils on entry into Queen’s Sixth Form, for academic excellence. Each Scholarship attracts a financial award of £500 and is awarded on the basis of an examination and interview held in the Autumn term of Year 11.
