St Charles Catholic Primary School, North Kensington is Independent Primary school for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )

At the heart of St Charles is a clear commitment to Catholic values where every child really does matter. The education that the pupils receive here has the Gospel values at its core and as one pupil explained to the Ofsted Inspector, “the school motto, Love God, Love your neighbour”, really works here.Good communication is essential in providing the best learning experience for the children. They have regular opportunities for you, as parents and carers, to meet with staff at the school (both informally and formally) to discuss your child’s progress and ways in which we can help them to move forward.

Curriculum
All the pupils share the right to a broad and balanced curriculum which promotes their spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development as well as preparing them for the opportunities and responsibilities they will experience in life. The curriculum encourages every child at every stage of their learning to develop their particular talents and potential across all the different curriculum areas.The national curriculum provides pupils with an introduction to the essential knowledge that they need to be educated citizens. It provides an outline of core knowledge around which we build exciting and stimulating lessons to promote the development of the pupil’s knowledge, understanding and skills as part of the wider school curriculum.

Pastoral Care
The overall pastoral care of the children is the responsibility of the Headteacher. The child’s immediate pastoral needs are cared for by the class teacher with whom the child has the greatest contact, but all of our school staff, both teaching and support, deal with pastoral care and discipline as the need arises.St. Charles is a well disciplined school, where it is understood that children are happy and make pleasing progress when they are in a well-ordered, secure environment. We all need to experience consistency, fairness of treatment and encouragement.

Personal, Social and Health Education
Personal, Social and Health Education is about growth and development of the whole person. It should aim to integrate a pupil’s intellectual, spiritual, moral, emotional, psychological and physical development, thus assisting progress towards Christian maturity. Education is for life. It aims to provide a framework for living. Throughout the pupils’ time in school they experience a network of relationships which are in themselves a part of the education process.
