At Bevington they believe that education is the gateway to a happy life. The vision is to provide our pupils with the skills they need to progress successfully thorough primary school and beyond. The aim is to prepare the children today for the lives they will lead tomorrow. They want to grow self-confident pupils, who are unafraid, analytical, forward thinking and committed to engaging with their world. They want the children to have a voice. At Bevington they focus on a set of shared values that help them to work with one another co-operatively and with respect. They learn the importance of friendship, positivity and tolerance and how to approach life with resilience and humour. These values make our school community happy and harmonious, a fun place, where children feel secure. The Values are important to all pupils, staff and parents. The whole staff team and all pupils are involved in promoting values and recognising their positive effects around school. The values are common to them all. They are as ones that they know are important within the school community and which will be important throughout life as well. Each month they focus on a particular value.  This is explored in assembly, during PSHE sessions in class, and is shared with parents for them to discuss at home with their child.

Facilities

Early Years
The Early Years setting is an exciting and nurturing place where children learn through play and creativity. As an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) unit they are organised into a Two-year-old provision (morning and afternoon session classes), a nursery class and two separate reception classes, each with their indoor and outdoor learning environments. The vision is to provide the pupils with the skills they need to progress successfully thorough primary school and beyond.

Curriculum
The curriculum, underpinned by the values, is created by the staff for the pupils. This makes Bevington learners inquisitive and resilient. All children are entitled to an inspiring and challenging curriculum. This will equip them with the skills to succeed in life. Each year careful planning builds upon previous learning. There is a clear progression, which leads to high quality outcomes. While based on the National Curriculum, all subjects are mapped out with the context in mind. They link learning across all subjects. Engaging topics incorporate the specialism in STEM and the commitment to humanities and the arts.

Features

Things to note

Clubs
At Bevington Primary they place a strong emphasis on providing a balanced education through the organisation of appropriate enrichment activities beyond the school day. They actively encourage pupils to participate in clubs outside of the school day and run a wide variety of exciting and interesting after school clubs every term for EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils. They offer a wide range of extra-curricular sporting activities at Bevington. The majority of the clubs on offer are run by our specialist PE staff and some are run by high quality external providers. The pupils also engage in after school friendly fixtures against other local primary schools. In addition to this the PE staff also run clubs to develop pupils PE skills in both KS1 and KS2.

SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
They believe that all children excel with an outstanding education, an enriching curriculum, supportive family and staff who are dedicated and caring. All learners are unique with differing strengths and interests and they work to these to motivate and instil pupils with confidence. They prepare all of the children for the wider world by supporting them where necessary whilst developing their independence and life skills.

PE and Sports Premium
After The London Olympics and Paralympics Games in 2010, the Government was determined to secure a significant and lasting legacy from the games where they wanted to continue to inspire the nation to enjoy sports. Therefore the Government announced that a new funding of £150 million was available to schools for physical education and sport. This funding is to be used to improve the quality of PE and sport provision.
