The vision is that they become the best for God that they can be, in all they do, whilst demonstrating Christian values which are pertinent to all faiths, and is based on Colossians 3:23, ‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people'.At St, Barnabas and St, Paul's, they always aim high and encourage children to believe in themselves. They place great emphasis upon the well-being and personal development of every child.  As a school, they work hard to create a lively, engaging and purposeful learning environment. The school strives to improve in everything we do and the children and staff relish this challenge. This is underpinned by the values which have been developed by the staff, governors and children. These are: Hope, Forgiveness, Perseverance, Trust, Compassion and Thankfulness.

Curriculum
At St Barnabas and St Paul’s Primary School, the curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all pupils from differing heritage groups, preparing them for the next phase of their education. The vast majority of the pupils have English as an additional language and therefore, oracy, language development and reading are at the heart of our curriculum. Learning starts in Reception with a curriculum based around quality texts. This continues through Key Stage 1 and 2 with a 'book' based curriculum and structured daily whole class reading sessions for all classes. Good use of standard English is consistently modelled and subject specific vocabulary is taught so that pupils develop a wider range of spoken language and improve their understanding and comprehension.Through the carefully sequenced curriculum provision, which includes a range of first hand experiences, they equip the pupils with the essential knowledge and skills to become successful, confident learners who are able to access a broad and balanced curriculum.

Things to note

Send
At St Barnabas and St Paul’s they strive for inclusion and high expectations for all pupils. They aim for every child to ‘Be the best for God they can be.’ They want every child to be happy, safe and to succeed. All pupils may from time to time, have special educational needs. Their special needs will be that they require considerations, which are different from those of their peers. The reasons may be physical, emotional or intellectual. The range of needs will vary from the profound and multiple disabilities, which are experienced by a minority of pupils and which will require lifelong support, to less apparent educational problems. Children with special needs are not only those with disabilities but can also include able underachievers and gifted children.
