Rosh Pinah Additional Resource Provision is Independent Primary school in Barnet for kids aged 4 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )
They are a warm, friendly, Modern Orthodox Zionist School which endeavours to afford our children with a deep understanding and appreciation of Judaism. They strive hard at Rosh Pinah to make every day at school a rich experience. We provide a range of extra-curricular activities and trips in addition to a challenging, broad and balanced programme of study that is appropriate to the needs of our pupils and relevant to the requirements of contemporary society. The winning combination of experienced, committed staff, a carefully planned curriculum and double form entry creates a friendly and stimulating environment within Rosh Pinah. Here, pupils lay down firm foundations in all areas of the curriculum, on which they can build in future years.
EARLY YEARS
Children are welcomed daily to our warm, nurturing and stimulating Early Years Environment where our experienced staff ensure that children feel safe and secure enough to explore and challenge themselves. We ensure a good pupil teacher ratio so that there is ample scope for individual help and support. Children are expected to try their best, treat others with kindness, to listen and to take responsibility for their actions. They are encouraged to enquire, question and participate fully in all the opportunities that are available to them.
KS1
As the children move through KS1, we provide them with the opportunity to build on the skills, knowledge and learning behaviours they have acquired in the EYFS, whilst ensuring the demands of the National Curriculum are addressed and taught well. Children will be drawn to revisit learning time and time again, reinforcing key concepts, mastering skills and making links as they become independent learners. Pupils lay down firm foundations in all areas of the curriculum, on which they can build in the Juniors. Children read and are read to daily.
KS2
The transition into the Juniors for pupils transferring from Year 2 to Year 3 is smooth and natural. Children continue to be encouraged to do their very best whilst learning to become responsible and caring members of the school community. Continued emphasis is placed on reading, writing, number work and clear self-expression across the Curriculum. Children are taught to acknowledge classroom discipline without sacrificing their own lively individuality. They benefit from a Curriculum which challenges, inspires and stretches and one which also embodies the rigour crucial for the modern age. We see clear evidence of the success of our Educational Programme as children moving through School are working at levels well above National norms in the Core Subjects. Children leaving Rosh Pinah are assured, confident and well-prepared to meet the challenges of Secondary Education.
LIBRARY
The Rosh Pinah Library sits at the heart of the School and is stocked with over 18,000 books. We believe that reading for pleasure unlocks a world of knowledge and learning for our pupils. When children read for pleasure, they build their knowledge and vocabulary, develop spelling and punctuation skills, increase empathy and improve wellbeing. We are very proud of our Library – it is a fantastic resource for both staff and pupils alike.
SPORT
At Rosh Pinah Primary School we recognise the important role that PE and Sport has to play in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. We also believe that Sport has a significant and beneficial impact on our children’s mental health and wellbeing. PE is taught here by a specialist Sports Coach who plans exciting and innovative sports based activities which are linked to the PE National Curriculum, covering different skills and techniques across the whole school. In Key Stage 1, children learn Games, Ball Skills, Gymnastics and Dance and in Key Stage 2, the focus is on Games, Gymnastics, Dance, Swimming, Athletics and Outdoor Activities.
EXTRA CURRICULAR
At Rosh Pinah we view children holistically and attach great importance to their personal development as it encourages them to become independent, confident and successful members of their community. To this end, we are proud of the extra curricular activities which we provide which help our children to develop into well rounded pupils.
