Founded in 2005 as a Montessori Pre-School , today Rose House Montessori School offers mixed aged, beautiful pre-prep and prep school environments for children aged two to eleven years old.Pupils' emotional well-being and mental health are at the heart of the school's work. Leaders and teachers nurture pupils' self-esteem and instil pupils with confidence in their own abilities. As a result, pupils view themselves as successful learners and are proud of their achievements.Each material is designed to help the child develop all essential life skills such as coordination, concentration and sense of order. All these lay an invaluable foundation for the child's character development and academic progress.Because the Montessori activities are so attractive and call to the child's desire to explore everything through their senses, children naturally enjoy learning within all areas of maths, literacy, sciences as well as cultural exploration.

The Montessori Elementary Community (Prep School)
Children of primary school age need a curriculum without an end goal, an environment that provokes awe and wonder, allowing the child to explore and understand the universe. Instead of working through a set curriculum according to a time frame that is the same for everyone, in a Montessori classroom children are guided towards working on individual or small group projects, fuelled by their enthusiasm for exploring topics in which they are interested. The six to twelve year old child is the most curious, interested human being, with an almost insatiable hunger for knowledge. They are explorers of independence, explorers of cosmic patterns, explorers of the universe, explorers of how things relate to each other and how people live together, focussing their attention on imagination which allows us to see the possibilities in reality.
The Montessori Children's House (Pre-School & Pre-Prep)
The Children's House offers specially designed environments for the 2.5 - 6 year old child. Great emphasis is put on warm, kind and caring relationships, giving our children as sense of belonging in a ‘home from home’, as they make their first steps out into the wider world.The beautiful and carefully prepared classroom welcomes children with activities on low level shelves which invite your child to learn through hands-on materials, allowing learning through physical manipulation. This gives your child ample opportunity to playfully explore, hereby unconsciously gaining a deeply rooted understanding of academic concepts before gradually giving way to developing the use of abstract thought, reasoning and learning.

Things to note
Observation sessions
Seeing your child in the clasroom environment, engaging with the materials and playing with their friends, is a beautiful experience which we offer to all our parents. Parents may decide to observe spontaniously or book an observation session at least once a tem, which also gives them the opportunity to discuss their child's interests and development with the key person.
Community Events
The school community comes together every year for a summer and Christmas event; children prepare a show for the parents and the community gathers for a party on the schoool grounds. All parents and carers are invited to a yearly parents evenings which focus on different aspects of the school life. The school also has a variety of books and magazines available for parents - these can be accessed via the schooloffice.
Home Education Centre
The Home Education Centre will launch in September 2022. This mixed aged class community will offer part-time places to children aged 6 to 11 years. The children will come together two days a week (9am to 3.30pm) across three school terms per year.
