On Track Education Silverstone offer pupils of all abilities and aged 11 - 19 a range of educational programmes at the school. Pupils are full time and work in small groups. Pupils at the school often have diagnosed or undiagnosed Special Educational Needs and associated barriers to learning, including SEMH, ADHD, Autism and Aspergers. Some pupils prefer smaller learning environments, some have been excluded from other schools and some have emotional barriers to accessing mainstream education.
The facilities include well-resourced classrooms, sporting facilities, play areas and workshops.
The school’s curriculum is broad and balanced to offer all pupils the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life. At KS3 students study the full range of subjects as required by the national curriculum which allows them to make suitable decisions for their program of study at KS4. GCSE’s or equivalents can be studied in English; English Lit.; mathematics; science; Geography; History; Art; Health and Social Care; Construction and the Built Environment; Engineering and Food Preparation and Nutrition. Some pupils also may, where required also study Functional Skills L1/L2 Maths and English.
Selection Criteria: Selective
Pupils are referred to the school by the local authority, other agencies such as social care, and sometimes by other schools. If a pupil has an EHCP then parents can request a place at this school and a pupil can join the school at any time of the year. Once a pupil is referred to the school, they are invited to visit and look around as part of the consultation process.
