Northstar New School is designed to meet the needs of children who cannot cope in a mainstream school. Pupils will often have a history of very challenging behaviour within a school setting and perhaps at home. We offer a strong and stable staff team who are experienced and passionate about giving these children new chances. We would like to give them and their families a new north star, a new direction and focus for their educational life.They are most successful when we help rekindle a curiosity for life and love of ideas. Getting pupils back into mainstream is always our goal. They want to give those pupils a new sense of belonging. This will positively impact their wellbeing and ability to achieve.
KS2
Pupils will learn how to:
➔ recognise the place value of each digit in a three-digit number (hundreds, tens, ones)
➔ compare and order numbers up to 1000
➔ identify, represent and estimate numbers using different representations
➔ solve number problems and practical problems involving these ideas
➔ count from 0 in multiples of 4, 8, 50 and 100; find 10 or 100 more or less than a given number
➔ read and write numbers up to 1000 in numerals and in words
➔ recognise the place value of each digit in a three-digit number (hundreds, tens, ones)
