Alamiyah School is Independent Primary school in Barking and Dagenham for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )
The Alamiyah School stems from a project which began in 2005 with a determined group of home-schooling parents who were eager to create a positive learning environment for their children; one that would foster not only a love of knowledge but give the children a moral framework and nurture each child’s unique genius. The project was subsequently joined by a group of educational professionals and evolved into the Alamiyah Pre-school. We registered as an independent school (Alamiyah School) in 2017 allowing us to cater for school age pupils. The school now caters for pupils of age 3-11 years till the end of the primary age range.The Alamiyah School is inspired by the Prophetic Tradition and will use a curriculum infused with the prophetic stories, arts and sciences. The Montessori approach to early years is the framework upon which the school is based, thus creating an educational experience based on ancient wisdoms and modern discoveries.
Curriculum
Alamiyah Pre-school is a Montessori setting where children are welcomed into a carefully designed and well equipped Montessori classroom that meets the needs of all children. Each day children have the opportunity to work alone with a skilled Montessori teacher who presents to them activities that are suitable for their development. One of the fundamental principles of our approach to education is that children have the freedom to choose activities that interest them from the environment and initiate their own learning. In addition to this children have the opportunity to work in small groups planned around their interests and needs. The Montessori classroom is divided into seven main areas.
Conscious Parenting: empowering your children to realise their full potential
This is a new course, based on the vision and methods employed at Alamiyah School in combination with the highly successful Positive Discipline approach. The course is centred on building a natural and holistic approach to parenting based on the Prophetic Way, using the Prophetic Sunnah in combination with Montessori and Adlerian principles.
Introducing Woodwork in Early Years Education
Alamiyah School will be hosting an innovative half day practical course on the safe set up, maintenance and independent use of a woodworking area for children age 3-8 years.The session will be run by Pete Moorhouse, an experienced Early Years trainer and author and an artist and sculptor in his own right.
Encouraging Creativity: Creative and Critical thinking
Alamiyah School will be hosting an innovative half day course which aims to develop an understanding of creativity and explore ways in which we can best facilitate creativity in our children through their environment, reflective learning practice and inspiring provocations.
