Hutton Church of England Grammar School is a State Secondary school for kids aged 11 to 16 (Gender - Boys )

Hutton Church of England Grammar School and Sixth Form is a popular, Voluntary Aided comprehensive school with specialist status in Mathematics and Computing, situated near Preston. The school admits boys only in Year 7 and there are 676 currently on roll in Years 7-11. Both boys and girls are admitted to the Sixth Form where there are currently 200 students on roll. The school has an excellent reputation and is over-subscribed in most year groups. Students come to Hutton from a wide geographical area across South Ribble, Preston, Chorley and West Lancashire and are from a variety of social, cultural, religious and economic backgrounds. It is common for there to be more than 40 feeder primary schools in a Year 7 intake. The number of students receiving Free School Meals is below the national average.

CURRICULUM INTENT
As a Church school all they do is underpinned by Scripture, striving to ensure that everyone within our community is supported and encouraged to always give of their best irrespective of their situation or starting point. To this end the curriculum offered within the school, both inside the classroom, and beyond, is rooted in a desire to bring out the best in all students and help guide and prepare them to be knowledgeable, skilled, hard-working, decent, honest young adults who are well placed to leave the school and make a positive contribution to society. In order to facilitate this the school, through its core values of ‘Accomplishment, Humility and Service’, looks to the development of the individual academically, socially, spiritually and in terms of the strength of their character. Students are encouraged, stretched, challenged and guided to be critical, collaborative and motivated.

As well as providing an excellent academic platform, Hutton Sixth Form gives all students the opportunity to immerse themselves fully in the wide variety of enrichment activities on offer. This is fuelled by the core value of community. Students don’t just gel with their classmates, but are actively involved in activities that unite Years 12 and 13.
