Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Primary School is a state primary school for kids age 4 - 11 (Gender - Mixed)

They seek to become actively engaged in every learning opportunity by exploring, questioning and growing to be curious about God’s world, on a journey to truly knowing ourselves; both the strengths and weaknesses. They aspire to become lifelong independent learners, who can use the knowledge and understanding for the greater good of everyone. To achieve this they know that the curriculum must be designed to take us on a deep journey which awakens the imagination and opens the eyes to new possibilities based in truth.

Learn ... how they live the mission statement through all actions, thoughts and words. At Our Lady Star of the Sea, they place Christ firmly at the foundation of the entire learning process. By encouraging, inspiring and challenging each person to become the best version of themselves, the hope is, that they will indeed, feel precious in God's eyes.

Special Educational Needs
They recognise that as children learn through experience in each subject area, individual needs become evident. Effective teaching strives to meet these needs and challenges children to excel and achieve what they deemed impossible!At Our Lady Star of the Sea school all children are valued for who they are, each made in the unique image of God. Staff work together to ensure inclusion of all pupils. As a community they are committed to enabling all children, including those with special educational needs to thrive and achieve what they are truly capable of.

Things to note

Extra-Curricular Opportunities
It has been great to get a rolling extra-curricular timetable back in place in school. The staff have all give up some of their time to ensure that opportunities are provided for all children across the school in lots of different ways. With the return to competitive sport for our Year 5 & 6 children, their football and netball clubs will resume. Please note the change of day for netball. It has moved to a Wednesday instead of a Thursday. There is also an opportunity to get creative for our KS2 children.
