Features

Things to note

  • The PE and Sports curriculum is structured in a way that develops students’ performances within sport, but also their ability to understand, analyse and improve those performances. Students receive one PE lesson and two games lessons each week, and this is supplemented through a broad and balanced co-curricular programme.
  • In Music, singing is a strong foundation throughout the Prep School and is brought together during a weekly singing assembly.
  • In Drama, their musicals allow all students to develop confidence performing in front of a large audience and gives them the vital performance experience needed to grow their acting ability.

Selection Criteria: Selective

Admission Details

Nursery Admissions: They welcome prospective families to tour Nursery all year round. In addition, you can attend Open Days in October and March. A private tour of Nursery will also enable you to meet the staff and ask Nursery Manager, Vicky Reynolds any questions. Your child will then be booked in for three or four two-hour taster sessions at your convenience to get to know their Key Person and to familiarise themselves with their new environment and their new friends. To arrange your private tour, please contact at [email protected].

Reception Admissions: They welcome external applicants to join Reception class in addition to those who transition from Pre-School classes. Families are highly recommended to attend Open Days in October and March to see school in action. Amanda Ilhan, Head of Nursery and Prep, will also be delighted to welcome you for a private tour at your convenience. Registrations for Reception open following our annual whole school Open Day in October. Children will be invited to attend Reception Taster Day in January and to participate in Transition Programme from March onwards. External families will be invited to attend briefing meetings with our Pre-School parents, the first of which will explain the transition process, with the second focusing on the curriculum, uniform and other pertinent information, as well as providing an opportunity to have your questions answered. If you would like any further information, or would like to make an enquiry, please contact at [email protected].

Year 7 Admissions: All external applicants to Senior School are invited to register by the end of November in the preceding year to their Senior School entry. They will be invited to attend Entry Assessment and optional Scholarship days (Sport, Music, Drama), which take place in January. The Entry Assessment day comprises a meeting with a member of the Senior School Leadership Team, an online assessment and a series of fun, interactive sessions (not assessed) which have been designed to put children at ease and to encourage them to make new friends. In addition to the children who will move up to Year 7 from Prep School, they welcome children from over twenty external schools. Whilst it can feel daunting to move from a primary school or prep school environment, transition activities have been designed to ensure Senior School feels like home when new intake arrive in September. For further information, contact [email protected].

Sixth Form Admissions: Applications are invited following our annual Sixth Form Open Evening in November, though interested parents and students are warmly invited to get in touch at any time. They offer Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sport Scholarships, as well as bursarial support with fees. Y

Scholarships

Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sport Scholarships are available. These are awarded on the basis of school-based assessments and the track record of the individual, and are assessed with transparency, honesty and consistency.

Students may apply for scholarships when transitioning into Year 7 and Year 12; at other points of entry, scholarships may be available at the discretion of the Headmaster.

Scholarships represent a reduction (up to the value of 20%) in annual fees, and are not dependent upon family income; nor are they negotiable. The number of scholarships is not fixed: we consider each candidate individually on their merits.
