Description

Bishopshalt School is leading State Secondary school for kids age 11 to 18 years (Gender - Mixed)

Bishopshalt is proud of its History, they retain its original mission and ensure that Bishopshalt is above all else a place for learning.  They have the highest expectations of our students, and of ourselves as they believe that with high expectations students can achieve anything.  All curriculum and leadership decisions are driven through the core values, focusing at all times at what is best for the students. They believe that school is preparation for life, so on top of having the highest of expectations they also provide a wide curriculum that is designed to give students a breadth of educational experiences that enable them to excel in various fields and therefore open up future possibilities.  This belief is lived and breathed through the Bishopshalt values.

Curriculum
The curriculum at Bishopshalt is everything they provide to students from the moment they enter the school gates in Year 7 to the moment they leave Year 13. They value academic rigour, and hold the highest expectations of the students and therefore the curriculum, whilst appropriate, is above all both challenging and stimulating. It is driven through a shared desire to ensure that all of our students, regardless of their personal circumstances, have ‘bright futures’. The curriculum is at the heart of the school’s purpose.  At Bishopshalt we recognise that: Improving educational outcomes is the biggest way they can positively impact upon the students’ futures.  School is preparation for life, and as such they intend to deliver the very best curriculum in order to provide as many opportunities for students to excel as they can. They take the term ‘educational’ in its most broad sense: this means more than just a set of academic results. It includes a child’s intellectual development, but also social and emotional development, citizenship and responsibility, happiness and success.

Things to note

Enrichment
In the Sixth Form they take enrichment seriously.  Success comes from qualifications, experiences and skills and the programme of enrichment will support all three.  Enrichment activities and experiences broaden horizons, develop new skills and cultivate personal and social qualities such as commitment, good citizenship, initiative, leadership and team spirit. In addition to their academic studies, all Sixth Form students are enrolled into our enrichment programme. Each week students spend one hour outside of their studies where they may learn a life skill, keep fit or support Key Stage 3 students to name but a few opportunities. Students experience a selection of different enrichments across their 2 years in Sixth Form, giving them supercurrciular knowledge that they can use in the next stage of their journey.
