Description

Bishop Gilpin C of E Primary School, London SW19 is a State Primary School for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - co educational )

For more than 250 years, Bishop Gilpin Primary School has been delivering an outstanding education for all pupils in its care. The children enjoy rich and engaging learning experiences, which promote ownership of learning and lead to high standards of achievement.  The children are at the heart of all they do here at Bishop Gilpin. Their successes are a credit to themselves, our staff, governors, clergy and our parents and carers. They recognise the importance of family and aim to make every parent/carer and child feel a sense of belonging. They create ‘A Firm Foundation for a Lifetime of Learning’ through use of the latest research evidence and our expertise.  The Christian school values help to create a safe, secure and welcoming environment in which all our children can flourish. Whilst academic standards are very high, they have a strong reputation for developing the character and wellbeing of pupils. Standards in Music and Sport are also exceptionally high, with the specialist teachers providing many opportunities for the students to excel.

CURRICULUM
They aim to create a firm foundation for a lifetime of learning through the Christian values of Forgiveness, Equality, Caring and Thankfulness. The children are enthused by engaging and exciting learning experiences, inspirational teaching and excellent relationships, in a caring environment where each child feels welcomed and respected as an individual. They develop the character of the children, supporting their wellbeing and enabling them to flourish academically and as people.

EYFS
The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum at Bishop Gilpin aims to provide opportunities for our children to build a firm foundation for a lifetime of learning through equipping them with the confidence, independence and resilience to embark on challenge in their learning. This is achieved by providing an early years curriculum that has been developed through pedagogical research, best practice and the expertise of the team. We believe that children need rich opportunities to initiate ideas and activities so that they develop the learning characteristics that will support lifelong learning.
