Description

Wimbledon High School is an independent girls' day school in Wimbledon, for kids aged 4 to 18.

Since 1880, WHS has been educating girls to go out into the world and make a difference.

Things to note

  • The school offers a vast range of clubs and activities.
  • Approximately 80% of pupils learn at least one musical instrument, playing in musical groups at school. These include choirs, an orchestra and a variety of smaller chamber ensembles who perform regularly in school, competitions and at community events.
  • Musical productions combining music and drama are a highlight of the school year – there are opportunities for everyone to get involved.
  • And then there are the academic clubs – anything from coding to rocket-making, from chess to embroidery.
  • Sport plays an important role in Junior School life.

Selection Criteria: Selective

Admission Details

4+ Assessment Process: The entry process is academically selective; assessments are held in a friendly, nursery-style environment, with activities designed to enable your daughter to relax and be themselves. The assessment covers language and social skills, number, physical and creative skills and will take place in the January following applications. For more information CLICK HERE

Joining Year 7: Admission to Senior School is at 11 years old, into Year 7. Entry to the Senior School is academically selective; assessments are taken in Year 6 for entrance the following September. For more information click on- Senior Admissions Guide 2023

11+ Testing 2023: For September 2023 entry, they will be testing Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning as first stage. Tests will be taken here in person at Wimbledon High School. For more information CLICK HERE.

Scholarships

Year 7 Scholarships

  • They offer a number of Academic Scholarships at 11+. No separate application is necessary - they are awarded based on performance in 11+ assessments. These can be worth up to 20% of fees but are usually 5 - 10%.
  • For keen and able musicians they offer 11+ Music Scholarships and for candidates with an aptitude for sport, 11+ Sports Scholarships. A separate application must be made for these scholarships by the registration deadline (noon on 3 November 2022) 

Sixth Form Scholarships

  • They offer a number of General Academic Scholarships at Sixth Form. No separate application is necessary - they are awarded based on performance in 16+ assessments and predicted GCSE Grades. These can be worth up to 20% of fees but are usually 5 - 10%.
  • They also have Sixth Form Scholarships available for Art, Drama, Sport and Music.
