Bancroft’s Prep School is a preparatory school for bright boys and girls aged 7-11 who are naturally curious about the world and ready to take advantage of the many opportunities our school offers.The latest technology, a stimulating curriculum and contemporary buildings all provide an ideal learning environment.Bancroft’s School was founded by the Drapers’ Company in 1737 on the Mile End Road as a day-school for local boys from a diverse range of backgrounds; the School has come a long way geographically and institutionally since then but the School remains committed to enabling pupils from a wide range of backgrounds to enjoy our education and has a long tradition of excellence.

At Bancroft’s Prep they want to excite the pupils both in and outside of the classroom, to provide new experiences and allow them to discover their own particular talents. We seek to give the children as broad and rich an education as possible, to develop their character and to ensure they grow into happy, balanced individuals.Alongside our outstanding curriculum, we offer a broad and well balanced sports programme, which aims to involve all the children, regardless of their individual ability.The activities programme is hugely diverse with a variety of clubs catering for all interests, such as Dance, Chess, Film, Crafts and Model Building. We also run a large number of Music, Speech and Drama groups.
