Description

Yateley Manor School is Independent Secondary school in Not applicable for kids aged 2 to 13 (Gender - 2 to 13 )

At Yateley Manor they aim to prepare all children for successful adult lives through an inspirational educational journey. They are rooted in strong relationships, a love for learning and high quality teaching. Children will not achieve and progress if they are not happy and feel safe. Effective, professional relationships at all levels are vital to provide every child with the foundations upon which learning can take place. As adults they never stop learning and so it is important for us to instil a desire to challenge oneself.  This happens through the very best quality teaching across every single area of the school. They are passionate about building a strong moral compass in every individual child by having regard for high standards of behaviour which are explicitly referenced and modelled by all.

Facilities

Nursery
Every parent wants the best possible start for their child, so the innovative and nurturing atmosphere in our Nursery provides a secure, gentle introduction to school life. Children quickly settle into this homely environment and soon realise that learning is fun.The focus is on balancing active, play-based learning with carefully structured teaching. Children keenly engage in creative play, singing songs, role-play and story time as well as small group teaching of numbers, letters and even French. The Nursery is situated in an attractive, purpose-built secure building with bright, well-equipped rooms and a large and imaginatively designed outside play area.

Pre-Prep
Yateley Manor’s Pre-Prep children flourish as they combine an exciting and stimulating education with a supportive and nurturing environment. The aim is to allow every child to develop into a confident, well-educated individual with an enthusiastic love of learning. Classrooms are bright, welcoming places where children can explore and learn.  Children are taught by a class teacher, with a full-time teaching assistant for each class, who offer a broad range of activities and subjects and who make learning fun.

Prep
Lots of children join Yateley Manor between Years 3 and 6. For this reason our transition and pastoral arrangements are exceptional. Children feel welcomed very quickly when they join the school. We endeavour to develop happy, confident children with a love for learning celebrating their individual achievements and talents, whilst nurturing areas that need developing. By adopting this philosophy, children are encouraged to become independent, confident individuals, ready and able to embrace the next phase of their learning journey

Years 7 and 8
The last two years at Yateley Manor are formative in the sense that children appear to develop so much and prepare for senior school life. So many parents have commented on the change that they have witnessed in their child during these two years, where they have moved from a quiet and unassuming member of the year group to a confident child able to speak in a large public arena.Being at the top of the school is fundamental in the development of children. Every child in Years 7 and 8 is expected to take some responsibility around the school. Every child is linked with a class and is expected to collect the class for assembly as well as provide support for them at break times when the weather is poor. Some children in Year 8 are given the role of Prefect which brings additional responsibilities.

Features

Things to note

The Creative Arts and Languages Centre provides state-of-the-art facilities in bright and spacious classrooms. The Music Technology Suite allows children to produce digital music with keyboards connected to computers and the six practice rooms provide ample space for individual and group rehearsals.

The indoor swimming pool is in use all year round. Behind Manor House and Manor Court, the main school building, the spacious sports hall, with its impressive cricket nets, football, netball and basketball facilities, is complemented by a second gymnasium and numerous sports pitches.

Imaginatively equipped play areas give children the freedom to unwind and play creatively. There are a whole host of physical activities to try, including Dance and Ballet in our specially equipped Studio.

Outdoor learning can boost children’s welfare and their performance at school. Spending time interacting with nature can boost children’s creativity and problem-solving skills. Our Woodland Learning Area has been designed to capitalise on these benefits and, together with the expertise of fully trained staff, the facility really brings out a different side of children.
