Facilities

Early Years
A wonderful learning, yet nurturing environment, nestled amongst the wider facilities. The Early Years is enriching, fun, engaging and educational and the dedicated, well qualified staff provide a loving and purposeful atmosphere.Eagle House believes that every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. The Early Years environment encourages every child to be unique, continually learn and be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.  Children grow and develop in independence and self-assurance until they are ready to move onto the next part of their Learning for Life journey.

Pre Prep
The whole school Golden Eagle programme starts in the Early Years with our ‘Skills for Life’ where children come together to immerse themselves in aspects of learning that have such an important place in their development; they become passionate photographers, sustainable cooks, environmental wardens or open fire chefs under the canopy in the woods and enjoy STE (Science Technology Engineering) led by sixth form pupils from Wellington College.   Children are encouraged to appreciate the importance of a healthy body and mind through regular sporting activities ranging from quiet moments of yoga and splashing in the pool, to fun events organised with local primary schools.

Prep
Everything they do is designed to help them ‘Learn for Life’ which in a modern and progressive Prep School means developing their key learning skills in the classroom, creating new passions and interests through the activities programme, building their confidence through the extensive co-curricular offering and most importantly, making long-lasting and supportive friendships. They aim to challenge all of the children to reach their full potential academically, artistically, creatively, musically and on the sports field whilst building confidence levels that allow leadership qualities to come to the fore. Children at Eagle House feel happy, secure and very much part of the family. At the end of their journey, all Eagle House children leave them as interesting and interested individuals. They are confident but not arrogant and in the classroom they are independent learners who are fully prepared for what lies ahead.

Features

Things to note

Co Curricular
They firmly believe that a modern and progressive education must include as much co-curricular activity as possible. A comprehensive programme of physical and creative activities complements the philosophy and encourages all pupils to try something new and develop the children’s passions, confidence and friendships.

Sport
They believe that developing personal, social and physical skills through a broad sports curriculum enables our children to flourish both inside and outside of the classroom. The diverse programme of sports activities develops pupils' confidence and resilience through physical, technical and mental stimulus, and exposure to teamwork and leadership opportunities. Each week, children spend at least 4.5 hours within the Physical Education, Swimming or Games curriculum. In addition to curriculum sports, pupils are also encouraged to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular sports.

Art
Art is provided in three forms – as a curriculum subject, as an extra-curricular activity and, for more advanced artists, the Art Scholarship Programme, in preparation for senior school Scholarships. Pupils learn to use different materials, techniques, skills and design processes to communicate what they see, feel and think. They regularly make use of the school’s art facilities during lunch breaks and the department takes children to a range of art galleries, workshops or exhibitions each year. Pupils are encouraged to participate in a variety of competitions during the course of the year. High quality art exhibitions of the children’s work are a key feature of the department.
