Things to note

Beyond the Classroom
Co-curricular activities play such an important role in developing children’s confidence, happiness and wellbeing, as well as nurturing all kinds of talents. Pupils get opportunities to join in a wide range of activities that build on the sense of exploration, discipline and fun in the classroom. We keenly encourage children to develop new interests from a very young age, because of the way they help to build self-belief and a sense of fulfilment. These interests will continue to grow and be nurtured throughout their School life.At Woodbridge School Pre-Prep, sport, music, drama, chess, art, food tech, Forest Schools, problem solving and outdoor activities are all part of daily life, but children have the opportunity to further pursue these interests and many more through a wide range of after-school clubs.

Sport
Before children can begin to play sport of any kind, it’s crucial the fundamental skills of agility, balance and co-ordination are taught, encouraged and developed through games and PE.  From Reception through to Year 1 and 2 in the School’s Pre-Prep children are encouraged to recognise how their body feels when they play sport, how to become aware and co-ordinated in their movements and what those movements can help them to achieve.  Without the basic skills it can’t be hoped for children to be able to process specific sport requirements, and so the first three years at School focus on these fundamentals.
