It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to The Tiffin Girls' School, a vibrant and happy community where the girls take centre stage. From its foundation in 1880 to the present day, The Tiffin Girls’ School seeks to provide an education where girls can live up to the school’s motto sapere aude – dare to be wise. In Years 7, 8 and 9 we teach a curriculum that reflects the National Curriculum while enriching all subjects with stretch and challenge aspects designed to enable girls to reach their full potential.

Students in Years 7-9 study Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Religious Studies, French, Latin, Design and Technology, Art, Computer Science, Music, Geography, History, PE, Drama, and then Spanish from Year 8. There is also one period of PSHE and Citizenship each week.

Key Stage 3 curriculum develops students' knowledge, skills and understanding, and lays the foundations for the courses students will then follow at Key Stage 4. All subject areas are enriched with a wide range of creative and stretch and challenge opportunities that are designed to enable students to reach their full potential.

In Years 10 and 11 students follow GCSE courses including a range of core and options subjects. The core curriculum is made up of English Language, English Literature, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and one foreign language (French or Spanish). Students can then choose up to three options subjects to complete their KS4 curriculum from Art, Computer Science, Drama, DT, French, Geography, History, Latin, Music, PE, RS and Spanish. Students also take core PE lessons and have one period a week for PSHE and Citizenship. These are non-examined aspects of the curriculum.

In Years 12 and 13, subjects follow A-Level specifications. Students choose four subjects to begin their studies, with most then choosing to continue three to A-Level in Year 13.

Features

Things to note

Clubs and Societies
There is an exceptional range of opportunities on offer and students are encouraged (and expected) to participate during lunchtime or after school. We place great value on the role of extra curricular and co-curricular activities in developing students as rounded young adults. As well as discovering new interests and friends, students are able to challenge themselves in different ways, shaping their characters, developing their independence and building their leadership qualities. Many of the clubs are set up and led by students, meaning each year the club offering changes.
