Hasmonean High School for Boys
1.31 miles
The Academy was established in 2015 by West End Actress Sara and offers classes for 4-18 year olds in Drama, Screen Acting, Singing and Dance. Being an independent family home grown school as opposed to a franchise makes it possible to offer lower prices and create a real family environment.
They are very proud to be one of the only Saturday morning performing arts schools to offer not 3, but 4 lessons every week, meaning you get the very most out of your morning. Alongside these classes they also offer a special Workshop day once every half term at no additional cost where guest teachers come in and teach their specialist skills. The guest teachers work in all areas of the industry - whether it be a cast member from a west end musical or a television actor to offer advice on drama and acting on screen, it is always a real highlight of the term and a fantastic opportunity for the students!

Selection Criteria: Selective
The Grange is an academy of high standards. That means that they offer the best in terms of a rigorous curriculum, which offers stretch and challenge to all pupils from their first day. This is dovetailed with a supportive offering which encompasses first class teaching in the classroom together with a network of measures to enable all students to reach their potential. Holistic and personalised approach ensures that all students can succeed in developing their academic and character skills and traits. To ensure this they insist that every student joining the school has a 1:1 interview with a senior leader. This is followed by a baseline skills assessment to ensure that classes, subject choices and study groups are the right fit from the start. Every student will be linked to a peer buddy and within days of joining will have a trusted adult. Parental communication regarding the progress of your child is ongoing and feedback is consistently provided from day one. You will be invited to a welcome event within days of your child starting at the school, regular reports will communicate academic progress and pastoral links with the Form Tutor and Head of Year are maintained daily. They are not selective and do not hold any admissions tests. This allows open mornings and taster days to be open to all students from local primaries and gives them a real insight into the exciting enrichment and curricular activities available.
