Seymour Park Community Primary School is State Primary School for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )

Seymour Park is a vibrant and thriving school family. We believe education matters and changes lives. This success comes from our high academic expectations and the commitment to providing the children with the fullest possible educational experience. They call this the Seymour Park Experience. The children enjoy learning the ukulele, lessons in our state of the art Digital Hub, and performing Shakespeare as part of the Children's Shakespeare Festival at the Royal Exchange Theatre.

Curriculum
The Seymour Park Experience is CURRICULUM. It is the entire planned learning experience we offer every child at our school; a rich, ambitious and relevant curriculum which is MAKING A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.  Through the Seymour Park Experience our children will grow as SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, EMPOWERED INDIVIDUALS and RESPONSIBLE 21ST CENTURY CITIZENS. This commitment is founded on the core values of CARE, RESPECT and GROWTH and on our pledge as a GOLD UNICEF RIGHTS RESPECTING SCHOOL. The Seymour Park Experience is a knowledge and skils based curriculum rooted in the National Curriculum for England. It is carefully tailored for our school family and informed by the evidence-based understanding of great learning and great teaching. This makes the Seymour Park Experience relevant to the children’s needs and our community, with the highest academic aspirations for all. To help achieve this, they have three threads which run throughout every part of the Seymour Park Experience.

Things to note

SEND
On the 1st September 2014, a new Special Educational Needs Code of Practice became law.  This has some significant changes to the old code of practice.  The SEN Code of Practice still identifies SEND pupils as those with needs that are additional to and different from their peers. The main issues affecting schools and young people are: The code of practice covers children and young people from the age of 0 – 25, The old statement of Educational Needs has been replaced with an Education Health Care Plan, which will continue to support your child in, their education as they journey through their school life and beyond, The old SEN categories of School Action and School Action Plus has been replaced by an overarching term as pupils having a SEND need
