Seaton House School is Ranked Number 4 in the Sunday Times Parent Power Top 100 Prep Schools List. Highest placed local Independent School.
Seaton House School was founded in 1930 and has grown and thrived over the past 85 years. We are a member of ISA, the Independent Schools Association and are regulated by the ISI the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
We are a small, friendly and nurturing school with a keen eye on the academic, sporting and artistic accomplishments of our pupils. We strive to bring out the best each girl can be and celebrate her achievements both at school and in extra-curricular pursuits. Year on year, we are hugely proud of the successes of our Form VI leavers as they embark on their senior school careers. Confident young ladies, well prepared to face new and exciting challenges having benefited from, what we believe to be, simply the best of starts in their education.
Junior House and Senior House together combine to form Main School.
Junior House starts in Form I. Form I and Form II classes are housed together at 67 Banstead Road South which also includes the School Office, the Headmistress’s Office, the Junior Library and the small groups room. Form I also has its own garden for outdoor play and learning.
Senior House is a separate building, landlocked and not visible from the surrounding area. This building houses Forms III, IV V & VI our School Hall, Senior Library, Learning Resource Centre and Music Room.
At Seaton House we offer a wide range of clubs and activities that take place either at lunchtime or after school. Some of these clubs are run by members of staff and others involve outside organisations who come into school on a weekly basis to run their activity. A charge is made for attending these clubs and applications to either join or continue with an activity are offered to the girls on a termly basis. The clubs we run vary from year to year depending on their popularity and we are always looking at new and exciting opportunities we think the girls will enjoy.
Some of the clubs we offer:
Seaton House also offers ‘Learn to Ride’ cycling clubs during the year when our younger girls are taught to ride within the confines of our playground and our older girls are given the skills to give them more confidence to cycle on the public highway, culminating in being tested for their Bikeability certificate.
