Facilities

EARLY YEARS
In the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) they encourage girls to be happy, independent and motivated members of the school community. We have one Nursery class and one Reception class, each one lead by a teacher and supported by two Teaching and Learning Assistants.

KS1
Key Stage 1 consists of year groups Year 1 and Year 2. Each class has a form tutor who leads the teaching and a Teaching and Learning Assistant to support them. Form tutors teach their forms the majority of academic subjects: English, maths, science, history, geography, RE, art, design technology and PSHEE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education). Girls are taught by subject specialist teachers for French, physical education (PE), computing, music and drama.  Art & design is taught by a subject specialist in Year 2.

KS2
Key Stage 2 consists of Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Each class has a form tutor who is responsible for the girls’ pastoral care and a Teaching and Learning Assistant to support them.Subject specialist teaching increases as our girls progress through the school, with the introduction in Year 3 of science teaching. In Year 4, Mandarin is taught in addition to French, Physical Education (PE), art, music and computing already taught by subject specialists. The girls also work towards an English Speaking Board examination in drama. In Years 5 and 6 girls, our girls are taught by a specialist humanities teacher.

Features

Things to note

SPORTS
They are proud of our outdoor space which boasts a floodlit netball court and 4 short tennis courts. The purpose built and fully equipped gym also ensures that we are able to hold the majority of our sports lessons at school regardless of the weather. The girls have dance, gymnastics and yoga alongside training in other sports such as netball, football and hockey.

LIBRARY
They believe that reading is a fundamental aspect of the curriculum and the beautiful Library encourages girls to read for pleasure and expand their vocabulary throughout their time at Sarum Hall. The ability to understand and apply text underpins our educational provision and therefore reading is an essential and integral part of daily life in school. A rich vocabulary enables children to communicate both verbally and in writing across a broad curriculum representing a full range of subjects.
