Our Lady and St John's Catholic Primary School is a State Primary school for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )

The school is a happy school.  They are a caring community with our mission firmly based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.  The children are delightful, well behaved and enjoy their time at school.All the staff are committed and highly dedicated professionals who provide a broad and balanced, challenging and exciting curriculum giving every child the best opportunity to reach their potential. They value the home, school, parish partnership which enables them to work together developing our school for learning today and learning in the future.
 

Facilities

Curriculum
the curriculum is divided into a two-year cycle of different topics for each subject. Each topic will begin with a ‘hook’ to enthuse the children about the topic and help them devise questions that they want to research. The children then develop their skills throughout the topic before they apply their knowledge at the end. The children then share their work with peers and parents in a variety of innovative ways. They believe children learn best when they are encouraged to use their imagination and apply their learning to engaging contexts. The curriculum will provide lots of learning challenges throughout the academic year that will require children to solve problems, apply themselves creatively and express their knowledge and understanding effectively across the curriculum.

Things to note

Remote Learning
They use Google Classroom as our remote learning platform and all of you are familiar with this as they use it for homework. You all have your own logins in your Reading Record book. Remote learning is a blend of online learning, recorded teaching and live teaching. 

Breakfast and After School Clubs
they run both a Breakfast Club and an After school Club to provide our families with wraparound care. These are run by school staff and are very popular.
