Description

On Track Education in Mildenhall is an independent special school. It opened in April 2005 and has places for up to 32 pupils aged 11 to 18. The school welcomes pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Learning difficulties and other special educational needs.

Facilities

The school is located on a light industrial estate in Mildenhall and is spread over four units.There are five self contained Nurture rooms, a dedicated ICT room, a Humanities room, an English room, an Art room and two workshops
On the ground floor there is a kitchen, a dining room, a medical room, a meeting roome and an admin area.
Outside, they have an artificial turf area which is marked out for basketball and five a side football.

They offer pupils of all abilities and aged 11 - 19 a range of educational programmes at school. Pupils attend the school on a full time basis, often working in small groups in one of the well resourced Nurture Groups. Pupils at school often have diagnosed or undiagnosed Special Educational Needs and associated barriers to learning, including SEMH, ADHD, Autism and Aspergers. Some pupils prefer smaller learning environments, some have been excluded from other schools and some have emotional barriers to accessing mainstream education.

Admission Details

Pupils are referred to the school by the local authority, other agencies such as social care, and sometimes by other schools. If a pupil has an EHCP then parents can request a place at this school and a pupil can join the school at any time of the year. Once a pupil is referred to the school, they are invited to visit and look around before they accept a place.
