CURRICULUM
Exning Primary School is committed to meeting the requirements of the primary National Curriculum.  They want the children to leave our school with the confidence that comes from possessing a bank of essential knowledge and the skills with which they can apply this knowledge.  We believe that this will lead them to be successful, independent and motivated learners in readiness for their next stage of education. The National Curriculum is taught through a mix of discrete core subjects and topic lessons, which integrate foundation subjects.  Topics have been designed to complement and build on one another with clear progression and links so that in subsequent year groups, they will be able to explore concepts deeper, applying their knowledge in different contexts. The more able are challenged further in their learning and children who find aspects of their learning more difficult, are appropriately supported so that they too are enabled to experience success.  National requirements and school requirements are mapped out as a whole school and then teachers plan the curriculum for their pupils accordingly.   The spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our pupils, and their understanding of the core values of our society, are woven through the curriculum.
