Lower School
The Lower School is a safe, happy and nurturing environment where children can grow academically, socially and emotionally at a pace that suits them. We follow and go beyond the National Curriculum with a unique approach which allows children to make links between subjects, encouraging interest and excitement in learning. A more holistic approach means we are able to follow the needs of each individual child, building on their natural inquisitiveness and desire to learn. Each class has its own class teacher but is supported by subject specialists. Teaching assistants are able to offer individual support for those who require it. Subjects covered include: English, Maths, Science, Geography, History, ICT, French, Art, Design, Music, PE, PSHE

Senior School
The Senior School sees pupils explore a rich and varied curriculum that provides every individual with an exceptional learning experience. They tailor our teaching to each pupil, harness their interests and strengths to aid their progression. However, this approach does not stop at the classroom door.  They offer a wealth of extra-curricular activities to develop pupils. The Senior School is full of opportunities for students to flourish, with a variety of clubs, trips, events and activities throughout the year. They believe that building character and educating students on how to develop positive relationships are the foundations for a successful Senior School journey. Whilst they offer an exceptional learning experience delivered by outstanding staff, they also highly value the social and emotional development of the students. A positive education strategy allows for students to explore and understand the science of well-being. When students feel positive within themselves, they can get closer to reaching their academic potential.

Features

Things to note

Forest School
At Brookes, they introduce the children to our beautiful Forest School area from the early years. We want our children to leave Brookes confident, resilient, and engaged in the world around them.Forest School is a unique educational ethos originating in Scandinavia that promotes holistic child development within a natural woodland environment. They follow the six key principles of Forest School. Forest School uses a range of learner centred processes to encourage child-led learning. Adults are led by the children’s interests and fascinations and carefully facilitate opportunities and new exciting provocations to children.

Extra Curricular & Holiday Clubs
At Brookes, they believe that student learning is important both inside and outside of the classroom. Participating in extra-curricular activities allows each student to pursue their passions, explore areas of interest, identify personal strengths and develop collaborative skills. They host a wide variety of activities during the holidays. Due to unprecedented circumstances, Brookes UK is guided by government directive on movement and social distancing.

Sport at Brookes
Sport is an important aspect of life at Brookes. It supports our ethos by helping pupils to develop vital skills for life such as commitment, resilience, team-building, confidence, leadership, sportspersonship and learning how to win and lose. They strive, therefore, to provide as many opportunities as possible for our pupils to enjoy a competitive sporting environment at whatever playing level they can achieve. The sport programme offers each pupil with multiple sports sessions in their weekly timetable. It is our aim to participate in fixtures with other schools, for pupils to experience competition as possible.
