Extra-Curricular: Many clubs involve drama, sport or music and other departments run clubs to develop a skill or interest. The variety of activities on offer is staggering and you will be certain to find something you enjoy and plenty of opportunities to try new things too. There’s a mix of lunch-time and after-school activities and exactly what is on offer changes each term.
Selection Criteria: Selective
Joining the Junior School: They usually welcome girls to Junior school at 4+ (Reception) or 7+ (Year 3) although sometimes places may become available in other year groups. There are places for around 40 girls in Reception, with two normally two classes of around 20 girls in each. There is also the opportunity for additional girls to join us in Year 3 where there are two classes, each of around 24 girls.
Joining the Senior School: Girls usually join Senior School at 11+ (Year 7). Admission is selective and involves written tests and an interview. About half of the girls joining us in Year 7 come from a wide range of maintained and independent junior schools across West London, and a roughly equal number come up from our Junior School.
Junior School – £5,084
Senior School – £6,593
Year 7 Scholarships: Academic scholarships are awarded at age 11 (Year 7 entry) to girls showing outstanding academic potential as judged by performance in the entrance assessment; all external applicants taking the entrance examination are automatically considered for one of these awards. There is no separate scholarship application form or scholarship test. The value of these scholarships may vary but they are usually in the region of 10% of fees and are more about the honour of the award than the amount.
Sixth Form Scholarships: At 16+, there are a range of additional Scholarships on offer while current scholars keep their scholarships until the end of Year 13. Those moving up from Year 11 at NHEHS and those joining from other schools may apply for Sixth Form Academic Scholarships. These are generally worth 5%-10% of the fees, for the two years of sixth form study. All candidates may also apply for sixth form scholarships for achievement and potential in Art, Music, Sport and Drama.
