Things to note

Art: They believe in introducing students to contemporary Art practice and to this end have run workshops by well-known visiting artists. Students visit galleries and museums in London, Harrogate, York, Oxford and Birmingham. In 2011 they moved into our new Art accommodation of specialist Art studios, including own ICT suite of Mac and PC computers.
Music: A vibrant music curriculum, fantastic range of instrumental groups and choirs, tailor-made individual music lessons and exciting opportunities to perform in school and in major venues around the city and beyond are central to the Montpelier High School experience. Music is delivered by highly-qualified and inspirational staff in the stunning Music Pavilion.
PE: A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all students to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It provides opportunities for students to become physically confident in a way that supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as resilience and respect.
Drama: They recognise that Drama has a unique contribution to make to the curriculum. It allows for personal and social development, fosters creativity and imaginative thought and helps prepare a student for adult life. It increases the individual’s confidence in her own abilities, in particular the ability to communicate both verbally and non-verbally.
