Sixth Form
Heathside Sixth Form is an exciting and inspiring place to learn and as a result, we have a consistent track record of making progress with all students and are in the top 10% of schools for A Level results. As a Sixth Form we share the vision, ethos and values of the main school and we want to inspire our students to reach their academic and personal goals. We take great pride in knowing each student as an individual and to understand his or her ambitions, strengths and needs. This is a distinctive feature of our sixth form.
SEND & Learning Support
Heathside School caters for the range of educational needs of all its students. The Learning Support Department at Heathside co-ordinates provision for students with additional needs and special educational needs and disabilities.The Learning support department works with all members of school staff to actively progress the development of students with Special Educational and additional needs. The department aims to promote learning strategies and teaching approaches which allow these needs to be met. Support is given to teachers to enable them to provide appropriate challenges and opportunities for success for identified students. In addition, emphasis is given to help the students recognise and plan for their own progress.
