A non-selective boarding school, Gordon’s School was established in 1885 at the behest of Queen Victoria and has since developed into one of the leading boarding schools in the UK. Key Stage 3
Year 7 - On joining the school, students are placed into four tutor groups. Students are ability set in Maths, English and Sciences and to a more limited extent for Modern Foreign Languages (MFL). Humanities subjects, Art, Music, Drama, Computing, and Religious Studies are taught in mixed ability form groups. Technology and Food Technology are taught in a carousel. In additional, physical education and PSHE are delivered to all students.
Key Stage 4
Year 10 and 11 - Students are taught in ability sets for English, Maths and to a certain extent in MFL. Students in Science undertake either GCSEs in all three separate sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) if they are in set 1 or Dual Award (worth two GCSEs) if they are in sets 2-6.
Sixth Form
Students in the Sixth Form undertake four AS Level subjects in Year 12 reducing to three in Year 13. Currently, all students take AS Level examinations at the end of Year 12 and then A Levels at the end of Year 13. In addition, students undertake a PSHE course entitled 'Open Study' which prepares them well for life outside Gordon's.

SPORTS
The extensive range of traditional team games, and competitive and recreational activities which we provide for students, forms a vital part of the Gordon’s curriculum because the character qualities required to be successful in sport are essential to academic and life success. Set in over 50 acres of beautiful Surrey countryside, Gordon’s offers a vast range of sporting opportunities from golf and rowing to horse riding and karting
CREATIVE ARTS
Through participation in our many plays, exhibitions and performances, and through specialist workshops delivered by external professional practitioners and experts, students are able to access a wide range of opportunities to develop their interest and talents in the creative arts. With a strong presence in local, national and international events, and with a nationally-renowned Pipes and Drums Band, the School is currently working towards the platinum Artsmark award.
