Description

Cransley School is Independent Secondary school in Not applicable for kids aged 4 to 16 (Gender - 4 to 16 )

A wonderful co-educational school characterised by small class sizes, excellent relationships with families, and exceptional, experienced teaching practitioners, with a passion for their subject and the wellbeing of pupils. They simply have a positive, studious caring and ambitious environment where well-behaved children of all abilities can flourish.

Facilities

The Senior school
Cransley is the antithesis to the large high school and the large selective independent school. The pupils are not elitist, nor arrogant. Their privilege is only one of gratitude for the opportunities their parents and teacher bring.  With Senior School class sizes averaging 16 pupils, in a co-educational, nurturing and stimulating environment, Cransley provides every possible opportunity for your child to succeed academically on their journey towards. This is the benefit of learning at a small inclusive independent school. We are very proud, therefore, that according to the DFE, Cransley is currently amongst the top performing school at GCSE in Cheshire and Warrington, and have been for several years.

The Junior School
The Junior School provides an enhanced Primary curriculum, utilising the resources, facilities and expertise of our Senior School, all within with small nurturing classes.  This allows us to provide learning opportunities beyond that of your usual primary school - with specialist teachers and resources in music, science, creative arts, computing, PE and drama The unique nature as a 'through school' has allowed us to consider the exact intent of our curriculum to ensure optimum impact on our pupils and improve GCSE outcomes. This 'spiral' curriculum has been developed by collaboration between junior and senior specialists to ensure key skills, knowledge and themes are revisited throughout a Cransley School pupil's learning journey whilst continuing to recognise the National Curriculum and exam board specifications.

Features

Things to note

SPORT
A school whose core values are to ‘seek excellence’, ‘nurture relationships and ‘venture beyond’. In Sport, these values are translated into ‘Performance’, ‘Provision’ and ‘Participation’. Cransley reflects and acknowledges of the benefits of Sport in pupil wellbeing and in complementing academic excellence.  It also recognises the social need to provide boys and particularly girls from 4-16, with the necessary skills to apply themselves - creatively, personally and academically - in order to build the confidence, collaboration and self presentation to continue that drive into the wider world.

DRAMA AND PERFORMING ARTS
At Cransley, Drama is not just for those few extravert, specialist stage animals who already ‘can’.  Drama is for every pupil. There is not a single child in the entire school who has not given of themselves in performance.  This is the mission as a School with inclusivity at its heart.  Indeed it always has been. This cannot be achieved without Drama being given the freedom and flexibility, the investment and innovation to adapt around the creative needs of the pupils and their dedicated teachers.

MULTI-SENSORY LESSON
Multi sensory lessons are given on an individual basis to Cransley students who are in need of some extra support - all led by the two highly experienced PATOSS / BDA specialist teachers. The aim of multi-sensory learning is for the child to acquire a permanent automatic response to the names, sounds and shapes of phonographs, together with an ability to out them into a sequential order.  Using this method, visual, auditory and kinaesthetic perceptual systems are interacting sufficiently to make learning secure, and decoding (reading) and encoding (spelling) skills are explicitly developed.
