Features

Things to note

Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND)
Every child at Sandiway Primary School is respected as an individual and wherever possible, teaching occurs within the normal classroom situation. However, there may be occasions during a child’s development where extra support is necessary. In such cases, a special programme is developed to help the child overcome the difficulties that he/she faces and extra support is provided where appropriate. In consultation with parents, a plan is drawn up to help the child progress. This progress is continually reviewed and teaching strategies modified, in line with plan,do,assess and review.

Before/After School Club
Sandiway Primary School provides an 'enrichment club' for our children. The Club is operated by school staff who the children already know. Staff are trained in first aid and food handling. They will provide sports and craft activities during the week. The children love coming to The Club, they go outside as much as possible, they have lots of games to play and there are times/spaces for children to 'chill' and rest after a busy day. They provide a breakfast each morning and snacks and tea (if children stay later) each evening. They can provide 'ad hoc' bookings when there is space or take a more regular booking.
