Facilities

Key Stage 3
The KS3 curriculum aims initially to introduce pupils to a broad range of subjects and to build on knowledge from KS2 and foster interest in new areas. Throughout KS3 we aim to stretch and challenge pupils and enthuse them with a love of learning and an aspiration to achieve their full potential. The curriculum offer is designed to provide both academic challenge and creative opportunities so pupils can explore their interests and talents in many areas. Over the three years the curriculum aims to build knowledge across all subject areas, develop literacy and numeracy skills and build a love of reading. The curriculum also ensures pupils are equipped for future learning and this includes both beginning to learn about different career opportunities and being prepared for forthcoming GCSE courses.

Key Stage 4
The GCSE curriculum aims to provide all pupils with both a core academic curriculum and also give pupils the opportunity to study subjects that they are confident in, enjoy, and that will provide future opportunities in terms of further education, training and employment. Emphasis continues to be placed on academic subjects and typically 70% of pupils study the full range of English Baccalaureate suite of qualifications, which enables them to access academic A Level courses and competitive universities including Russell Group and Oxbridge. The curriculum aims to enable pupils to build on the knowledge learned at KS3 and, in addition to learning new content, build confidence in independent learning and revision techniques that will enable them to to achieve their full potential in in meaningful qualifications by the end of Year 11, and also prepare them for their next steps in education. We also intend for pupils to receive the best possible careers advice and guidance to enable them to be aspirational about their future and make the best decisions for themselves about future education and training.

Sixth Form
The Sixth Form curriculum aims to offer a broad range of academic subjects (predominantly A’ Levels) to allow students to specialise and focus their learning in their chosen areas of interest. The intention is to provide students with the qualifications, skills and personal qualities to prepare for, and thrive in the next stage of their education and in life beyond school.  The  aim is to develop their aspiration, independent learning skills and character and support them to reach their intended destination.
