Whitehall is a timber-framed historic house museum in the centre of Cheam Village, Sutton, Greater London. It is thought to have been a wattle and daub yeoman farmer's house originally, built around 1500. It is Grade II listed on Historic England's National Heritage List.

The story of Whitehall, its construction and former occupants offer unique insights into the past. The recently completed National Heritage Lottery Fund refurbishment project, supported by the Borough and Friends of Whitehall, presents an opportunity to rediscover this incredible site with greater access than ever before.

Building on a 500 year history, the recently completed Heritage Lottery Fund refurbishment project, supported by the Borough, presents an opportunity to rediscover this incredible site with greater access than ever before.
In addition to improved physical accessibility, the project allows us to offer the space to the community in new and exciting ways as a hub for education and entertainment, inviting visitors to add to Whitehall’s unique story moving into the future.
Built around 1500, Whitehall is a Grade II listed Tudor house in the heart of Cheam Village. It is owned and managed by the London Borough of Sutton who opened it as a local museum in 1978 following a campaign by the community. The construction of Whitehall as well as the story of its use and occupants through time offer unique insights into the past.
