Village Ceramics is a friendly and relaxed ceramic painting studio located in Sutton, offering a welcoming environment for families and individuals of all ages. The studio provides a stress-free creative experience with helpful staff who are happy to show different techniques and assist with any challenging parts. They are extremely children-friendly, featuring high chairs, baby changing facilities, and complimentary drinks and biscuits for all visitors.

The main attraction is their Pay As You Paint sessions, suitable for all ages with children 6 years and under requiring supervision. Special activities include Wicked Wednesdays evening sessions for adults, Magic Memories for customised special occasion pieces, and Precious Prints to capture children’s hand and footprints on ceramics or in clay. They also offer Silver Fingerprint Jewellery for children aged 3 months and upwards, creating unique keepsakes presented in jewellery boxes.

Pay-as-you-paint sessions cost £7 per painter (plus a £4 charge for those watching/helping), with ceramic pieces ranging from £5 to £80. Birthday parties are available with five different themed options, all priced at £27-£29 per head, requiring an £80 deposit and advance booking of two months.

  • Pay As You Paint: Pay-as-you-paint is the easiest way to come in & do some painting. Suitable for all ages (6 years and under need to be supervised). It  is an extremely busy studio and it is essential to book a place, this is to ensure that your experience is an enjoyable, stress free visit, which is organised and well staffed so we ask for a non refundable deposit of £7 per painter in advance (this is your session fee paid in advance, 24hrs + -so all you will need to pay for on the day is your piece that you choose), their is also a charge of £4 per person watching/helping, this is to try to ensure customers do turn up and stick to scheduled appointments particularly at peak times.
  • Wicked Wednesdays: This is a chance for all you ladies and men to come & spend the evening painting, catching up with friends & having a well deserved relax! It can be just you, you & a friend or a group of you… Sessions cost £9.00 per painter – this needs to be paid as a deposit when booking to save your space.
  • Magic Memories: A range of unique hand-painted plates and other ceramic pieces that can be customised for special occasions. These provided an ideal reminder of special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, christenings or retirement. Our special process enables friends and relatives to individually record their personal messages.
  • Precious Prints: At Village Ceramics we are able to capture your little ones hands & feet to create everlasting memories & fabulous gifts for loved ones! We have a range of ways in which you can do this, whether it be painted hands or feet on to plates, mugs, bowls (anything as long as the print fits) or imprints of your little ones hands & feet into clay or even outprints of them in plaster to give you a 3d impression. Prices start from £8.
  • Silver Fingerprint Jewellery: To achieve the best fingerprint possible children should be aged 3 months upwards, but this is dependant upon babies finger print. All items comes presented in a jewellery box and is hallmarked.

Birthday Party Details

We offer two different seating areas catering for large and small parties. The main studio seats a minimum of 14 and a maximum of 20, and the back studio seats a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10. If you have a larger group than 20 we can reserve both party areas, any groups smaller than 6 can come and do pay as you paint sessions in the front area of the studio. We can do birthday parties for children as young as 4, however we recommend going for option 1, parties will last for 1hr 30minutes rather than 2hrs.

All parties include supervision, tuition, a sugar free drink and a chocolate chip cookie, aprons and a bag (this will have Childs name and piece in, if you wish to add to it you can, or we can supply sweetie bags to go in bag also).. Most parents bring along party food and a birthday cake. A £80.00 deposit is required and booking two months in advance is advisable. at current no refunds on deposits are available. We have a small kitchen area with a microwave ,knife and lighter for birthday cake so you don’t have to bring too much with you.

Station Way in Cheam Village is just three minutes walk from Cheam railway station. There is a public pay and display car park opposite in Kingsway Road.

  • From Sutton: Cross the A217 traffic lights and turn left at the next traffic lights (Harrow Public House on your left).
  • From Epsom: Take the A24 and turn right onto the A232 to Cheam (first traffic lights after Homebase). At Cheam Village traffic lights (Harrow Public House straight ahead) turn right.
  • From Kingston / Worcester Park: Follow the signs for Sutton and Cheam. At Cheam Village traffic lights (Abbey National on left, TSB Lloyds Bank on right, Harrow Public House straight ahead) go straight across.
